Golf is a fascinating game, very relaxing and enjoyable. However amateurs often have a very hard time understanding the principles of the game. Understanding golf is quite easy, in fact amateur golfer can master the game within a little time. All you need to do is employ a few tricks and tips and you too can be a master of the game.

  1. Master the clubs

One major mistake that all amateurs is make is making the assumption that clubs are just clubs. Golf clubs are quite different and this is why they are many. They are shaped and designed to deal with the challenges that you may find on the golf course. For example, the long clubs are ideal for long distance shooting and the short clubs are ideal for the short course. This however is just the basic of the clubs, there is much more to learn.

  1. Work with the wind

Perhaps one of the greatest advice from master golfers is to use the wind. The wind can help your trajectory, move the balls faster and for a longer distance. Playing against the wind has the disadvantage of requiring much more energy as well as mastery. Against the wind the ball often loses direction, moves away from the gate. The winds helps an amateur player master the course much easily. Therefore stay confident in your game with the wind helping you.

  1. Have a strong grip

A slippery grip is worse than the wrong clubs. You need to practice your grip, fining the cost comfortable zone for yourself. Your thumbs and tiny finger need to be more comfortable. The problem comes in where the gloved hand, and an gloved have to work together. Normally the gloved hand goes under because it prevents sweat from reaching the clubs. Practices is the best way to reach the best and most comfortable grip.

  1. Make sure you have a right alignment and stance

Golf is not just about hitting the ball into a specific direction. The alignment is about measuring the ball and ensuring that you have the target in sight. Many amateurs make the mistake of ensuring alignment from beside the ball, however, the right alignment is made from behind the ball. Stand behind the ball, measure the target using the club and determine whether you are on the right path.

Also when playing many amateurs are emoted to change the stance after alignment. Make you are comfortable, and do not keep changing the stance the first option is probably the best, stick to the same.

  1. Have fun

Many people take golf too seriously. They forget it’s just a game, a game that you should enjoy. Even when winning or losing, what golf requires is just confidence and more confidence. The stance and alignment, the grip and even the prediction of the trajectory comes from the confidence. With confidence you can enjoy the game. When you make a mistake, do not panic instead start planning on how to correct the mistake. Panic makes the mistake worse, makes it harder to get back on track. Even when an error looks like it’s hard to correct, there’s a way out. All you need is the right mind to find the right path.

Adam Scott Can Supplant Tiger Forest As Golf’s Player Of The Year

Adam Scott of course backed to the Barclays Championship Sunday as all of the leaders unsuccessful to make the most of numerous possibilities. Also it might be the impetus for him stealing golf’s Player of the season title from Tiger Forest too.

Scott published your final-round 66 to complete at 11 under and viewed with patience as Kevin Chappell, Matt Kuchar, Gary Woodland, Justin Rose and Forest themself either flattened or skipped key putts lower the stretch. Rose, who won the U.S. Open, three-putted the 18th eco-friendly to fall from the playoff.

The United States Open Championship

us open golf

The United States Open Championship, commonly known as the U.S. Open, is the annual open golf tournament of the United States. It is the second of the four major championships in golf, and is on the official schedule of both the PGA Tour and the European Tour. It is staged by the United States Golf Association (USGA) in mid-June, scheduled so that, if there are no weather delays, the final round is played on the third Sunday, which is Father’s Day.

The U.S. Open is staged at a variety of courses, set up in such a way that scoring is very difficult with a premium placed on accurate driving. U.S. Open play is characterized by tight scoring at or around par by the leaders, with the winner usually emerging at around even par. A U.S. Open course is seldom beaten severely, and there have been many over-par wins (in part because par is usually set at 70 except for the very longest courses). Normally, an Open course is quite long and will have a high cut of primary rough (termed “Open rough” by the American press and fans), undulating greens (such as at Pinehurst No. 2 in 2005, which was described by Johnny Miller of NBC as “like trying to hit a ball on top of a VW Beetle”), and pinched fairways (especially on what are expected to be less difficult holes). Some courses that are attempting to get into the rotation for the U.S. Open will undergo renovations to develop these features. Rees Jones is the most notable of the “Open Doctors” who take on these projects; his father Robert Trent Jones had filled that role earlier. As with any professional golf tournament, the available space surrounding the course (for spectators, among other considerations) and local infrastructure also factor into deciding which courses will host the event.

The U.S. Open is the only one of the four major championships which does not go immediately to a playoff if two or more players are tied at the end of the four rounds. Instead, the players play a fifth 18-hole round the following day (Monday), but if a tie still exists after that round, then a sudden-death playoff is held. Only three times has the U.S. Open gone to sudden-death after the playoff round, most recently in 2008 when Tiger Woods defeated Rocco Mediate on the first additional playoff hole.

Coverage of The U.S. Open is broadcast on television by NBC and ESPN, with additional online coverage of a marquee group provided by ESPN via the U.S. Open’s official website. Of golf’s broadcast television partners in the U.S., NBC is the only network to provide four days of major tournament coverage (CBS, which airs the Masters and the PGA Championship, only provides weekend coverage of its tournaments; since 2010, the Open Championship has not been aired live on an over-the-air network, with all four rounds airing on ESPN and only edited highlights screened by ABC). The Top 5 Most Dramatic Moments in Masters History

The Top 5 Most Dramatic Moments in Masters History

Over the years, the annual competition at the Augusta National Golf Club has produced some fantastic moments. For those who like a flutter, the Masters usually provides some great punting opportunities and the free bets from online bookies make it an even more exciting event for many. Below are my personal top five moments, with a short description of each one.

  1. Tiger Woods’ chip on the 16th hole in 2005. What became known as the best golf ball commercial ever, owing to the prominence of the Nike logo before the ball dropped into the hole, was a truly magnificent shot that had everybody on the edge of their seats. Pitched well above the hole, owing to the sloping green, it was Tiger Woods’ second shot on the par 3 16th at Augusta. After trickling down the slope, the ball paused for a moment on the lip of the hole, before dropping in to wild applause and high fives.
  2. In 2004, Augusta was the setting for Phil Mickelson’s first major tournament win. Tied for the lead with Ernie Els going into the 18th, a par 4, he played a great tee shot and an approach shot to put him 18 feet from the hole. A birdie would be enough to win by one shot and the assembled crowd held its breath as Phil took the putt. What made this moment even more dramatic was that Chris DiMarco had just missed a putt on the same line. The rest, as they say, is history. Mickelson sunk the putt and leaped for joy after finally winning a major tournament.
  3. 1975 was the first time that many Americans were able to watch the Masters on television in colour and they were treated to a great golfing display by Jack Nicklaus as he won his 5th Masters. The finish was exciting but the most dramatic moment was produced when Nicklaus birdied the 16th with a monster 40 foot putt.
  4. One of the most exciting finished to a Masters had less to do with the flawless golf played by Nick Faldo than the collapse of the Great White Shark, Greg Norman. Probably the best golfer never to win a major tournament, Norman had a 6-stroke lead going into the final round and looked a certainty to break his duck. However, after the first nine, his lead had narrowed to two strokes and a possible birdie putt on the 11th that grazed the hole seemed to accelerate his collapse as he missed the next shot and went into the 12th tied for the lead. Landing in the water on the 12th led to a double bogey and in the end he was lucky to hold on to second position as Faldo ran away with the title, winning by 5 shots.
  5. Jack Nicklaus appears on my list for a second time, and for this I make no apologies. Anybody who watched the 1986 Masters cannot fail to agree that it was an absolute classic and the fact that Nicklaus had been written off by the critics after 6 years without a major win made the moment even sweeter. Six birdies and an eagles on the last ten holes secured the title and for me, the most dramatic moment of all was his near hole-in-one on the 16th.
