Lake Templene was created in 1970. Entrepreneur and developer Floyd Templin purchased farm ground around the Prairie River and Sauger, Sylvan and Camel Lakes. The dam was built and the area was flooded. The end result is beautiful Lake Templene. Currently there are approximately 400 homes built around the lake.
